YOUnique Team
Amelia
I am the Founder and Director of YOUnique Support & Coordination, a values-driven organisation built on compassion, empowerment and person-centred care.
I have a strong commitment to continuous learning and am particularly passionate about Autism and Psychosocial Disability. I enjoy working through complex situations and finding practical solutions that create positive outcomes for participants and their families.
Kindness, equality, acceptance and genuine connection are at the heart of everything I do. I believe everyone deserves to feel safe, included and empowered to live the life they choose.
One of my greatest strengths is the incredible team that stands beside me. They are the heart of YOUnique. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to their roles are what make our organisation so special. I highly value each member of our team and believe that when we support and empower one another, we can achieve the very best outcomes for the people we serve.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that with the right support, understanding and encouragement, everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Michael
Hi, I'm Michael.
I live in Agnes Water and have spent much of my working life supporting people through challenging situations. I worked as a paramedic for 13 years, mostly in Agnes Water where I developed a calm and grounded approach while helping people navigate both physical and emotional challenges.
Alongside my healthcare background, I have spent recent years facilitating men's groups, supporting personal growth, and working with individuals and couples to build stronger relationships and wellbeing. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with people from all walks of life and create a safe, supportive environment.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, exercising, and being involved in the local community. I value genuine connection, good conversation, and helping people maintain their independence and continue doing the things that bring meaning and enjoyment to their lives.
I became a support worker because I enjoy working alongside people, building trust, and making a positive difference in their day-to-day lives. My aim is to bring a calm presence, a sense of humour, and reliable support to every person I work with.
Lena
I’m Lena, with 6 years of experience in nursing and support work. I’m passionate about helping people feel comfortable, independent, and confident in their everyday lives.
I’m a caring, patient, and easy-going person who enjoys building genuine connections with the people I support. Outside of work, I love gardening, surfing, crafting, going on adventures, and spending time with my horse. I enjoy bringing creativity, positivity, and a practical approach into both my personal life and my work.
I believe in providing support that is respectful, encouraging, and tailored to each person’s individual needs, goals, and interests.

Marisa
Hi I am Marisa, I am a Registered Nurse with extensive experience across many areas of my 34 years nursing. I have worked in the hospital setting, General Practice, Community, Indigenous, Child Health and for the Central Queensland University.
I transitioned to support work 5 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the change of direction from nursing to supporting clients in their own home.
I am passionate about client well-being and assisting them to maximise their potential and live their best life in a safe, professional and caring manner.
I enjoy the simple things in life and getting outdoors to go surfing, camping and exploring new places in remote Australia with my husband and family. I am a keen photographer, cook, gardener and mosaicist.
I like to volunteer with the Disabled Surfers Association and Blaze aid – helping farmers with fencing and labour after a natural disaster.
I have lived permanently in beautiful Agnes Water for 9 years and in the area for 26 years.
Lisa
Hi, my name is Lisa. I am a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker with a strong background in caregiving. Throughout my time as a stay-at-home parent, I gained valuable skills which I now bring to others' lives, providing support through emotional challenges, managing daily routines, problem solving and caring for others with patience and understanding. I also spent many years working as a spa therapist which required strong emotional intelligence, active listening and hands on interaction to make people feel comfortable and supported. I communicate well and remain calm under pressure, responding to needs with empathy and respect.
I bring kindness, attentiveness, and a gentle demeanour to my role. I encourage empowerment and independence, and I commit to making a difference in people's daily lives. I love connecting with people and I genuinely care about others wellbeing and happiness which makes this role so rewarding. This is not just a job for me but rather exactly what I love to do.
Outside of work I enjoy going for walks, listening to music, exercise classes, travel and spending time with my family and friends.

Eleisha
Hi, I'm Eleisha. After making this region home and raising my family here over the past five years, I was excited to return to the workforce and join the team at YOUnique Support & Coordination.
My passion for supporting others led me to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support in 2017. Before moving to Agnes Water, I worked as a Support Worker on the Gold Coast. That hands-on experience gave me a strong understanding of the challenges and rewards of the disability sector and continues to be invaluable in my role as HR and Administration Officer.
I'm proud to be part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to making a positive difference in people's lives. The professional, ethical, and person-centred culture that Amelia has created at YOUnique reflects a genuine commitment to quality, compassion, and going above and beyond for participants, their families, and our team. It's a privilege to contribute to an organisation that is dedicated to delivering exceptional support to our community.
