Empowering Individuals with Unique Abilities to Thrive

At YOUnique Support & Coordination, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live a meaningful, empowered life — guided by their own choices, values, and goals.

Founded by Amelia Best, a passionate advocate with both lived experience and formal qualifications, YOUnique is a proudly locally owned and operated organisation. We are committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred support services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Amelia has dedicated herself to walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate the NDIS. Her background in Community Services & NDIS informs a hands-on, empathetic approach — ensuring participants feel truly seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey.

YOUnique Support & Coordination is more than a service provider — we are a supportive community. Backed by a team of skilled and committed support workers, we offer flexible, one-on-one assistance tailored to meet the unique needs, strengths, and aspirations of each participant.

Our Mission

To foster a nurturing, empowering environment where individuals of all abilities feel respected, included, and capable of achieving their fullest potential. Whether it’s developing everyday skills, building confidence, or working toward long-term independence, we are here to support and uplift — every step of the way.

Our Values

At YOUnique Support & Coordination, our name embodies our purpose: delivering personalised, participant-centred support that recognises and celebrates the uniqueness of every individual.

Our values are the foundation of everything we do. They shape our culture of respect, inclusion, and empowerment, guiding how we support participants, collaborate as a team, and engage with our community.

Respect

We honour the dignity, rights, and choices of every participant, family member, and team member. We listen actively, communicate transparently, and always act with integrity and professionalism.

Accountability

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethical conduct, safety, and service delivery. We take ownership of our actions, follow through on our commitments, and ensure transparency and consistency in everything we do.

Empowerment

We believe in the strength and potential of every individual. Our goal is to build confidence and independence by working with participants — not for them — so they can make informed decisions and take control of their own lives.

Compassion

Every interaction is approached with kindness, empathy, and genuine care. We understand the emotional journey many participants and families face, and we strive to build relationships based on trust, patience, and heartfelt support.

Inclusion

We welcome and embrace diversity in all its forms. YOUnique is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and accessible environment where individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, cultures, and identities feel seen, heard, and valued.

Collaboration

Great outcomes happen when we work together. We foster a team environment built on open communication, mutual respect, and strong partnerships — both within our organisation and with participants, families, allied health professionals, and community networks.

Amelia

I am the Founder and Director of YOUnique Support & Coordination Services, a values-driven organisation built on compassion, empowerment, and genuine person-centred care. I am a little obsessed with sunflowers and rainbows! Both make me smile and give me an instant genuine sense of happiness. I created YOUnique with a clear vision — to provide supports that are not only professional and reliable, but deeply respectful of each individual’s unique journey. I truly believe that no two people are the same, and their supports should reflect that. I have always loved learning and studying, and I’m constantly looking for ways to expand my knowledge so I can better support the people I work with. I am particularly passionate about Autism and Psychosocial Disability, and I am deeply committed to understanding the complexities that can come with both. I don’t shy away from challenges — in fact, complex situations motivate me. When things feel difficult or overwhelming, I become even more determined to find practical, meaningful solutions that create stability and positive change. Kindness, equality, and acceptance are values that guide everything I do. It is incredibly important to me that every person feels safe, respected, and valued for exactly who they are. I believe everyone deserves a genuine sense of belonging, hope, and motivation as they move toward the life they want to live. Outside of my professional life, I have a big love for all animals — they hold a very special place in my heart. My compassion for people and animals alike reflects the way I approach my work: with empathy, patience, and care. Through YOUnique, my goal is to walk alongside participants and their families as they navigate the NDIS, helping to bring clarity, confidence, and direction. I am committed to building strong support teams, advocating when needed, and ensuring that every person I support feels empowered and capable. At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: with the right support, understanding, and encouragement, everyone has the ability to thrive.

Silvia

I’m Silvia — your friendly Italian “pocket rocket”! While I’m full of energy and have a bubbly personality, I can also be calm, gentle, and grounding when it matters most. I genuinely love connecting with people and building meaningful relationships from our very first meeting. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is that no two days are ever the same. Every participant I support teaches me something new — about themselves, about resilience, and about life. There is always something to learn, and I feel grateful to grow alongside the people I work with. I have a natural ability to help people feel comfortable and at ease, regardless of their background, culture, or values. I truly believe that authenticity, trust, and kindness are the foundation of any strong relationship. I wear my heart on my sleeve and pride myself on being genuine, compassionate, and trustworthy. I support my clients with passion — through empathy, understanding, and high-quality care. I want every person I work with to feel heard, respected, and never alone. Especially on the “rainy days,” I am there to provide reassurance, advocacy, and steady support. My passion for supporting others is deeply personal. As a young teenager, I experienced bullying, which shaped who I am today. It taught me the importance of standing beside those who feel vulnerable or unheard. I am not shy about following my instincts and emotions when it comes to advocating for my clients and ensuring they feel safe, valued, and cared for. Outside of work, I love being outdoors and enjoying nature and fresh air. I treasure time spent with my loved ones and my pets, reading a good book, watching a fun movie, and admiring the beautiful local flora and fauna around us. I adore all animals — and if you have a dog (or two… or three!), I will absolutely become their best friend. I can also be a little goofy! I laugh at myself often and can definitely take a joke. Being Italian means I express myself with passion — and yes, I talk with my hands a lot! 😆 Above all, I am caring, loving, and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the people I support.
